Wonder OK – The sights and sounds of an epic journey!

The delivery of a strange box and a divine voice in a wine-soaked dream prompt a conflicted artist to seek illumination in something called “Wonderfruit”. Leaving his home in Chiang Mai and taking to roads real and imagined, the box of wonder leads our protagonist on a journey of self-discovery, searching for what it is to be OK in life. Along the winding path they encounter inspirational people in pastoral communities who help them navigate memories of the past that inform the present and point to future understanding in a promised land.

Shot primarily on location in the artist’s hometown, this music video was specially created for the Wonderfruit International Festival of Music and Art by Navin Rawanchaikul and his studiOK team in collaboration with Chiang Mai-based solo artist JuiJuis, the popular SUTHEP BAND : คณะสุเทพฯ and Isan indie-folk fusion band จุลโหฬาร : Junlaholaan Band. The film’s unique soundtrack also includes special guest artist Sombat Simla, aka “The God of Khene”, playing beautiful melodies that marry the traditional and the contemporary within the recording.

Alongside an illustrated book of Navin’s adventures with his magic box, a host of fun art and lifestyle activities and a grand live musical finale, the film forms a key component of the artist’s Wonder OK project for Wonderfruit 2022 and beautifully encapsulates in words, images and music the storytelling of the OK Commune and how the caravan of creativity made its glorious way to a land where people live, love and wonder.
