This extraterrestrial tale opens with a poem floating into the window of philosophical robot/alien Taximan’s Taxi Planet. It is from Warrior Hack, a mysterious taxi-poet from New York City. Discovering what New York is through his computer terminal, he sets off for the city. Despite his appearance, Taximan has no concept of what a taxicab is, but upon arriving in New York in a congested street he hops in one trying to find answers and to seek the mysterious taxi-poet, whom Taximan believes can help him. Later he is accidentally knocked over by Indian taxi driver Wa Shing Ka, and with the assistance of fellow driver No Pah King, they rescue the unconscious robot. With all the drama, Wa Shing Ka forgets he must pick up his wife and son from the airport, and when they can not be found, Taximan suggests calling the Taxi Insider radio show to put out a missing person’s bulletin. Thanks to the broadcast, Wa Shing Ka is quickly reunited with his family. On his next cab ride, Taximan is held at gunpoint as a thief attempts his escape only to be foiled by the joint heroics of the alien robot and brave taxi driver, along with some police intervention. Hungry and cold Taximan stumbles across a late night food stall frequented by nightshift cabbies, where he discusses the meaning of ‘taxi’. Eventually fate leads him to meet the Warrior Hack, whose taxi poems help Taximan understand the meaning of ‘taxi’, before his spaceship carries him back to Taxi Planet.
