Using the popular Thai expression mai pen rai meaning “never mind” or “don’t worry”, Navin Production’s first fictional character Mai Pen Rai Man, was the hero of the 10-volume comic series. In the same vein as the cheap mass-produced 1-Baht Thai comics, the Mai Pen Rai Tokyo epic evolves round three principal heroes; Wizard Navin, journalist Johnny, and expert in the occult Professor Piak. When combined, they form the powerful three-headed superhero and demon fighter Mai Pen Rai Man, whose task it is to defeat the evil Supreme Ghost from Thailand and his devilish spirit army that have invaded Tokyo. The comic was sold from a customised street vendor bar with posters and drinks named after the 10 ghosts featured in the comics. With attempting to alter the context of how a gallery functions, visitors could browse the comics and have a drink in the gallery. The comics were also sold on the back of old decorated bicycles that rode round the surrounding area.
