A five-volume series (M)art Circus begins in the year 2055 with Old Navin retired and drunk in Chiang Mai. He is invited to Yokohama to be on the selection committee for the new CEO of the Yokohama Triennale. At the CEO meeting he meets his old art colleagues, including old professors, who tell him that art is dead. Upset, Navin goes to the old foreign cemetery in Yokohama and when crying over the Memorial to Art’s Demise, he magically conjures up deceased celebrities from art history including Mona Lisa, Joseph Beuys, Marcel Duchamp, Francis Bacon, Clement Greenberg, Pablo Picasso, Peggy Guggenheim, Harald Szeemann, Susan Sontag and more. Through the next four volumes Navin and his gang art ghosts constantly battle Curatorman and his Super(m)art followers. Curatorman launches his five Monopoly-style board games on how to be successful players in the (m)art world. Navin, Dali, Basquiat and Warhol, among others, keep fighting, and Van Gogh even appears as a suicide bomber trying to blow up Curatorman.
