Mai Pen Rai is a vernacular Thai phrase meaning ‘never mind’. Mai Pen Rai Yatai is a vermin filled yarn beginning in a Thai village with the Millennium Man (MM) bandits visiting an evil old shaman, Dr. D. The witch doctor gives the MM goons an old medicine bottle with a mysterious creature inside. Trying to run off without paying, the conniving MM plotters fight with Dr. D, drop the old bottle and release a horrific giant rat-like monster. Controlled by MM, the rat’s powerful weapon is its highly toxic urine, which it sprays on enemies. After attacking Taximan?s Taxi Planet, Taximan flies to Earth to unite with his old crime fighting buddies, Navin, Johnny and Piak, who are getting drunk at a yatai – food and drink stall – in Fukuoka. Chased down by MM and the monster rat, the team hides in a cave where they find an old pha khao mar cloth which magically transforms the trio into superhero Mai Pen Rai Man. Together, Taximan and Mai Pen Rai Man battle the rat beast before it can pee in the river and poison the whole city. They save the day and celebrate by getting drunk with old friends at their favorite Mai Pen Rai Yatai.
