Bridging almost 40 years difference in age, between two Thai artists, Navin Rawanchaikul brought Fly with Me to Another World back to Lamphun for a permanent exhibition alongside the first ever duo exhibition with the National Artist of Thailand, Inson Wongsam.

Fly with Me to Another World is a documentary installation and community-based project to honor the life of Inson Wongsam, a penniless art graduate who drove a scooter from Thailand to Italy in early 60s. The project has developed across several international venues and collaborations since 1999. (click here for project detail). The permanent installation at Inson's home in Lamphun includes a life-size replica of the young Inson on his legend scooter, which exhibited along with billboard painting and photos based on his recollections and experience as a young Thai artist traveling the world. In addition, publications and video documentation of the project are displayed among Inson's latest wood cravings.

Presided over by Prof. Dr. Apinan Poshyananda (Director-General, Office of Contemporary Art, Ministry of Culture), the opening event on February 21, 2009 was included performances by local communities of Pasang, followed with traditional Lanna Khantoke dinner.

The Fly with Me to Another World exhibition is made possible by Office of the National Culture Commission and Office of Contemporary Art, Ministry of Culture.
